Connection-এর ধরন ও দায়িত্বের সীমা নির্ধারণ
Building crown-এ column, beam, brace member এবং connection plate সীমিত জায়গায় মিলিত হতে পারে। পেশাগতভাবে এগুলোকে সাধারণত complex structural-steel connection বা multi-member connection বলা হয়; প্রমাণ ছাড়া “cast-steel node” বলা ঠিক নয়। Approved drawing ও material document নিশ্চিত করলেই cast-steel connection শব্দটি ব্যবহার করা উচিত।
Steel detailing structural design information-কে fabrication, inspection ও erection information-এ রূপ দেয়; এটি স্বয়ংক্রিয়ভাবে structural design responsibility গ্রহণ করে না।
Geometry, clash detection ও কাজের জায়গা
Detailing model member centre-line, section orientation ও control elevation মিলিয়ে connection plate, stiffener plate, splice plate, bolt-hole group এবং weld পরীক্ষা করে। Clash detection-এ wrench clearance, welding access, NDT surface এবং coating repair area-ও বিবেচনা করতে হয়।
Fit-up, welding sequence ও distortion
Manufacturability review-তে datum member, fixture, tack-welding sequence, principal weld access এবং member turning arrangement নির্ধারণ করা হয়। Batch production-এর আগে weld type, heat input, restraint, weld shrinkage ও distortion মূল্যায়ন করা দরকার।
Transport, inspection ও trial assembly
Shipping split নির্ধারণে equipment capacity, road বা container limit, lifting point এবং erection sequence বিবেচিত হয়। Dimensional inspection control coordinate, plate angle, hole group, bevel, straightness ও splice gap পরীক্ষা করে। Accumulated tolerance-এর ঝুঁকি থাকলে project requirement অনুযায়ী trial assembly করা হয়। Material, weld category, NDT extent ও tolerance contract, drawing, WPS, ITP এবং applicable project standard অনুযায়ী হবে।
