In the tide of manufacturing upgrading in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Midea Group's Digital Science Park project is a microcosm of China's intelligent manufacturing transformation. Guangdong Jiangxin Steel Structure Co., Ltd. undertook the steel structure engineering of this super-large digital park with a total area of 300,000 square meters, writing a wonderful chapter of industrial construction with 22,000 tons of steel.
Complex Engineering, Precision Coordination
The Digital Science Park project includes multiple multi-story industrial plants, R&D buildings, and supporting facilities, with complex and diverse building functions, and significant differences in structural form, clear height, and load requirements in different areas. To this end, we established a full-professional BIM collaborative platform at the project initiation stage, achieving in-depth collaboration between steel structures and mechanical and electrical, curtain wall, and other specialties, and digesting inter-professional collision problems in the design stage to avoid on-site rework.
Special Requirements for Intelligent Manufacturing Plants
As an intelligent manufacturing base, the Digital Science Park put forward millimeter-level requirements for floor flatness and column spacing accuracy to ensure the stable operation of automated equipment and AGV cars. During construction, we introduced a high-precision total station real-time monitoring system to implement closed-loop control over the verticality of each steel column, ultimately achieving that the vertical deviation of all steel columns did not exceed H/1000 (H is the column height), far exceeding the specification requirements.
On-time Delivery to Help Midea's Digital Intelligence Upgrade
The project went through about 10 months of intense construction and was finally delivered smoothly according to the contract milestones. Today, this steel skeleton supports hundreds of intelligent robots operating in an orderly manner in Midea's Digital Science Park, and also witnesses the magnificent transformation of Chinese manufacturing to Chinese intelligent manufacturing.
