Project Context and Jiangxin's Scope

The Qianhai Financial Holdings Building is located in Shenzhen's Qianhai district. The tower is 245 m tall and has an approximate gross floor area of 127,600 m². Its architectural crown comprises members meeting from multiple directions, creating demanding interfaces for shop drawings, member segmentation, weld access and site assembly.

Current project records list approximately 3,500 metric tonnes of crown steelwork. Jiangxin began participating in the factory fabrication and supply of structural-steel components for the building crown in May 2024. This scope statement does not imply responsibility for the building's structural design, the overall construction contract or all site erection activities.

Converting Approved Information into Fabricable Members

Before release to production, the fabrication team checks member centre-lines, connection and stiffener plates, weld access, transport splits and site splice interfaces against the approved drawings. At multi-member connections, the detailing model supports clash detection and manufacturability review so that plates do not interfere, welding positions remain accessible and shipping pieces remain practical to transport.

Key Fabrication Controls

  • Material traceability and identification: materials are linked to the bill of materials and fabrication drawings, with a clear piece mark assigned to each shipping member.
  • Fit-up and welding: fixtures establish the assembly datum, while the approved welding procedure and welding sequence are used to manage weld shrinkage and distortion.
  • Dimensional inspection: critical control points, bolt-hole groups, member straightness and splice interfaces are checked before release.
  • Trial assembly: shop trial assembly may be used where the project requires confirmation of spatial geometry or erection interfaces.

Supply and Erection Interfaces

Delivery of complex crown steelwork involves more than transporting members to site. Piece marks, packing lists, shipment lots and the erection sequence need to correspond so that the site team can identify and call off components by zone. Design revisions and interface changes must be closed through approved documentation to prevent differences between the shop, shipping and site versions.

What This Case Demonstrates

The case illustrates the central fabrication challenge of super-tall crown steelwork: converting complex three-dimensional geometry into members that can be fabricated, inspected, packed and connected to the site erection process. Final scope, tonnage and technical requirements remain subject to the contract, approved drawings and project quality documents.
